About Me - Behind the Lens

Welcome to Fredrick Paul Photography, specializing in portraits, modeling portfolios, food photography and commercial projects.

I believe that inspiration comes from each of us; it defines who we are. Our thoughts, our moods, and how we interact with others guide us in our everyday experiences.

Meeting someone with ambition gives me pause to listen to their stories, desires, and goals — this is what drives my creative inspiration.

Your experiences and personality play a very important part of our creation of images that tell your inspiring story. Exploring one’s dimensions, it tells a story that you can share with the world telling who you are and where you want to go. Even the most camera-shy clients have enjoyed their session and are amazed by what we have accomplished.

My photography is based on a creative commercial approach (be it Portraits, Fashion, Commercial Products, Branding, Food Photography/Styling) which drives my inspiration to create something different.

I started taking pictures in my early college days. I had my camera with me everywhere and produced mainly what we’d call “street photography.” I photographed friends, family, landscapes, cityscapes, etc. My first paid photography gig was for a prestigious wedding photography studio, this was the first time I had my photographs published. To experience capturing the excitement and heartfelt feelings of the bride and groom their family and friends was inspirational.

I continued developing my own style and technics, which later proved to be the most rewarding direction. In 1981, I opened Fredrick Paul Photography, specializing in weddings, portraits, and commercial projects. One very fortunate meeting, I met the Midwest representative for Hasselblad Cameras, and from there, he became my mentor. This led to an opportunity to provide examples of my images and participate as a representative photographers exhibition in Japan and other countries with other notable photographers: Dean Collins, John Sexton, Dennis Dubiel, and Ansel Adams.

In the following years, I continued my professional career and I developed an interest in video productions, or sometimes referred to as, live-action. Recognizing an emerging market, industrial training, and marketing videos, I developed a business plan and concept. This proved to be the cornerstone of other successful companies, from which I launched Fredrick Paul Productions and Flamingo Productions. Today, all three companies are still in business, creating portraits, commercial photography, and live-action presentations.

Thank you for visiting my webpage. I would certainly like to discuss your interests. Let’s create that special moment, capturing your most interesting thoughts in time – forever.
